  62 \fIfildes\fR. To deallocate means to make the file descriptor available for
  63 return by subsequent calls to \fBopen\fR(2) or other functions that allocate
  64 file descriptors. All outstanding record locks owned by the process on the file
  65 associated with the file descriptor will be removed (that is, unlocked).
